 | Public Seating Limited for January 10, 2006, Oral Argument in MacPherson v. Department of Administrative Services (S52875)
The Supreme Court has scheduled oral argument in MacPherson v. Department of Administrative Services (S52875) for January 10, 2006, at 1:15 p.m. in the Supreme Court Building courtroom at 12th and State Streets in Salem. The argument is scheduled to last 90 minutes.
The courtroom will not accommodate everyone who would like to see this argument. Fewer than 20 members of the general public will be able to attend. Legislative Assembly Media Services has arranged to broadcast the argument to three hearing rooms in the State Capitol Building and over the legislative cable network, as well as over its website (http://www.leg.state.or.us/listen/).
Because of the courtroom's limited capacity, the Supreme Court has established the following procedures to accommodate the public and media who wish to attend:
Press. Ten seats will be allocated to the press. Members of the press who would like to attend should notify Scott Crampton (503.986.5550) by noon on January 3, 2006. If necessary, a lottery will be held to determine which reporters are seated. If you have a seat, the court will contact you by Thursday, January 5.
Public. The court will reserve the remaining seats for the general public. Fewer than 20 seats will be available. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on January 10, members of the public may pick up reservation slips on a first-come, first-served basis at the Appellate Court Records Office on the first floor of the Supreme Court building.
The court will first seat all lawyers participating in the argument, court staff, and security personnel. Court staff will seat public spectators at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the remaining available seats.
All attendees must observe proper decorum at all times. |
