Our Courthouse
is located in Dallas and was built in 1899 after a fire
destroyed the original courthouse built in 1859. An
annex was added in 1965 and the Court Records Office
is located there. A new jail building was built in
1999 and the Criminal Records
office and a new courtroom are
located in that building. The court staff include
three Circuit Court Judges, a Trial Court Administrator and
21 support staff members.
The watercolor of the courthouse by artist Darlene Thiesies
is used with permission of her daughter. Darlene painted many
Polk County scenes over the years and we are happy to be able
to share this beautiful painting with you.
