Supreme Court Building Security Enhancements

The Judicial Department announces enhanced security at the Supreme Court Building effective September 1, 2006. The Department has contracted with the Oregon State Police to provide a Court Security Officer for the Supreme Court Building during all court business hours. The Officer will control access into the building, screen visitors, and provide on-site security for building staff and patrons.

Court visitors will be required to sign in at the new security station at the main entrance (State Street) for access to the State of Oregon Law Library or the Supreme Court courtroom. In addition, the Department will allow most visitors to enter only through the main entrance on State Street.

Visitors who need to use the ramp to the accessible entry may continue to use the ramp that leads to the rear entrance. The Department will provide an intercom for those visitors to request entry.
